Portraits

Welcome to my love of painting. I paint where I am inspired and all these subjects say something. I hope they speak to you.

I use Claussen Belgium portrait oil primed linen #13 and artists’ grade paints. Some of the finest linen available. Most of these paintings, unless noted, are unmounted to offer a variety of framing and mounting options. I will ship as is unless you reach out to me for a preference. I can stretch them on standard stretcher bars, deep 2″ bars, or on birch plywood. There are additional fees but all are very reasonable.

About my paintings- Most of the time, I paint with a limited palette of burnt umber, ultramarine blue, alizarin crimson, cadmium yellow light and, of course, titanium white. Red, yellow, blue, red, and brown for tinting can produce any color needed for any situation. Color mixing is a beast but great fun too.

I use an indirect method of painting which means I use many layers. One building and sometimes transparent to the next layer. Let me know if you have any questions.
